Waste Types


  • What CAN be placed in this bin:

    • Household Waste: Items like kitchenware, books, papers, bedding, small appliances, tools, clothing, toys, furniture, and general garage items.

    • Office/Commercial Waste: Cardboard, stationery, office furniture, and appliances.

    • Light Green Waste: Grass clippings, shrubs, twigs, and other minor green waste.

    What CANNOT be placed in this bin:

    • Hard Demolition Waste: Materials such as bricks, sand, concrete, clay, soil, tiles, stones, rocks, and gyprock.

    • Tree Trunks and Roots: Palm tree trunks, large tree trunks, roots, and turf with or without synthetic grass.

    • Hazardous Materials: Batteries, asbestos, insulation, liquids, food waste, wet paint, empty chemical containers, and other hazardous items.

  • What CAN Be Placed in the Bin:

    • Bricks and mortar

    • Concrete

    • Roof tiles (terracotta/concrete only)

    • Sandstone

    • Bitumen/Asphalt

    What CANNOT Be Placed in the Bin:

    • General Household Waste: Items like kitchenware, clothes, toys, appliances, furniture, and garage junk.

    • Office/Commercial Waste: Including cardboard, stationery, office appliances, and furniture.

    • Hazardous Materials: Items like batteries, asbestos, insulation, liquids, empty chemical containers, food waste, wet paint, and other perishable waste.

    • Soil, Sand, and Dirt

    • Hard Demolition Waste: Items like bricks, concrete, tiles, stones, rocks, wood, gyprock, cement, rubble, plastic, metal, steel, soil, sand, and clay.

    • Treated Timber: Examples include retaining walls, decking, and floorboards.

    • Green Waste: Includes shrubs, grass clippings, twigs, palm trees, tree trunks, plants, etc.

    What CANNOT Be Placed in the Bin:

    • Hazardous Materials: Batteries, asbestos, insulation, liquids, empty chemical containers, food, wet paint, and other perishable or harmful items.
